Gilmore Field & the Hollywood Stars

Regardless of the era, stadium, or team, baseball has been ever-present in LA since the early 1900s. And in true tinseltown fashion, for a brief sliver of time from 1939 to 1957, the city hosted the Hollywood Stars of the Pacific Coast League right in the heart of Los Angeles at Gilmore Field. While it was exciting to see the star-studded cast of investors and owners at any given Stars’ game, what truly made Gilmore Field a special place was the intimate feeling of the ballpark and the community of fans that came out for their team.
